Welcome to a new year!! We hope that our students and parents have a productive 2012. Please begin this year by becoming involved with your school. Students are encouraged to do their best by participating in the many activities offered at the elementary, middle and high schools. Parents can ensure the best possible education for their children by joining the parent organization and attending functions at the schools. We invite you to enjoy everything our schools have to offer!

Students and teachers at NPES are full of school spirit. We celebrated neon day and hillbilly day with style in anticipation of our homecoming football game. Mrs. Forman and Mrs. Matthews were "in the spirit" with the students.

North Pike students are constantly working to improve on the MCT2 state assessment. Currently, there are 297 fifth through ninth graders who have improved one performance level in a tested area without falling in the other area. As a reward for their hard work, these students will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to the Washington Parish Free Fair in Franklinton, La during the month of October. This group worked extremely hard last year, and we are proud of their tremendous accomplishment.

North Pike High School Supports Breast Cancer Awareness
During October, the Family, Career & Community Leaders of America and the North Pike High School teachers showed support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink in honor of breast cancer survivor and teacher Melinda Simmons. Not only did the FCCLA wear pink to honor Mrs. Simmons, they also surprised her with a dozen pink roses. In addition, the FCCLA sold pink silly bands to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
